OKLAHOMA AUTHOR ALTON CARTER RELEASES NEW BOOK

Oklahoma City, OK., May 7, 2018- Alton Carter, author of The Boy Who Carried Bricks and Aging Out, has written a new book, The Boy Who Dreamed Big, illustrated by Janelda Lane, telling the story of a foster child who was inspired by his elementary teacher to use his imagination to overcome obstacles. Encouraged by his teacher and others, the young boy learned that if he worked hard and believed in himself his dreams would come true and he could be whomever he wanted. 

Alton Carter is the Director of Youth Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He is also a motivational speaker for public schools, teachers, churches, corporate staff, and various company and fundraising events.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. He has won the Martin Luther King Jr. Award for his outstanding leadership in the community and has been awarded two Governor’s Commendations for his youth involvement programs, as well as his drug and alcohol prevention programs.

Most importantly, he is using his story to inspire youth and adults to do all they can to enrich the world.
